We went to breakfast at a restaurant named Sal’s. They had a Sunday Brunch that was $11 for seniors and that included coffee. Just our kind of place. We then drove out to Kenai which is a little north of Soldotna to the old “Cannery”. It is now being used as a motel with gift shop and restaurants. None of it was opened however since today is the 4th.
We also went to another wood carving place. It is amazing how anyone could carve a log with mainly a chainsaw and get such detail. They also had several photo op’s and of course we took full advantage of them.
I’m sorry it’s just what old people do to amuse themselves and it worked. Here are a few of the other carvings.
We also went by Black Jaxx Barbeque which is next to the wood carving store. It was listed in one of the advertisings as Oklahoma Barbeque. Turns out he is from Owasso, Oklahoma and used to work at Bad Brad’s. It is every bit as good as Bad Brad’s too. In fact that’s what we’re having for supper.
