Another Floor

I put another floor in another Motor Home.  It was for a member of our Good Sam Chapter.  Her name is Mary.  Mary lost her husband last year.  That wasn’t the reason I did it for her.  I would have done it if John was still living.  They’re just really good people.  Mary’s job was bigger than the floor I put in our Motor Home.  She wanted to replace the floor from the front of the MH to the bedroom which included the bathroom and shower area.  The bathroom and shower area had linoleum, the living room had carpet, and there was a small area in the kitchen that had a laminate tile on it.  I started in the front taking the carpet out just behind the two front seats.  This was a much harder job than mine.  She has a dinette which of course is attached to the floor and the carpet was under it.  I left the linoleum in the bathroom and shower area since it was very thin and the wood laminate flooring would go over it without causing a problem.  I didn’t take any before pictures but I do have some of the finished job.  This is the front of the MH where I started.  The front couch is on the left side.  It also had to be removed so I could lay the floor under the front of the couch.  The slide area where the couch is attached is still carpeted.

I am through with floors this year.  I may do 1 or 2 next year for other friends down here.  It is hard work but I do enjoy doing it.  Doing a floor in a stick house would be much easier.  RVs have so many nooks and crannies which makes the trim work really hard but when it’s done it is pretty.

Just a normal Winter in Texas

We have a good time spending the Winter in Aransas Pass with our friends.  We have done several things with them this year/season.  We had a steak cookout where Don and Kathy Bryan furnished 2/3 of the steaks and Twila and I the remaining 1/3.  I got drafted to cook them and everyone had a good time.

Gary House installed air bags on Don’s Truck after Don and Kathy bought a new fifth wheel trailer.  He had a little help but mostly just watchers.

We also had a hamburger cookout but I didn’t take any pictures.  I did take pictures of the Ice Cream Social.  We had four kinds of ice cream.  Orange sherbet, chocolate, vanilla, and butterfinger along with several cakes, cookies and strawberries.

Yes we do like to eat.  In fact there is a saying about Winter Texans.  It is “ Winter Texans - where the women aren’t pregnant but the men look like they are”.

I also remembered I was going to report about the outside TV when I got it installed.  Well I did and I didn’t.  It has been in awhile now in fact we even had an outside movie one afternoon.  I didn’t get a lot of stuff out of the way when I took these pictures but hopefully you can see how it is installed.  Lucky I found the lead from the inside to the third TV so this made the feed from the Dish Receiver easy.  I had to go down through the floor and run a new cable for the over the air TV.  The DVD in the coach also runs through the satellite cables but the sound from the DVD only goes to the surround sound system in the coach.  I just used a portable DVD player hooked up at the outside TV to play movies.
