Rambling

Well I’m back in my old rut of not writing anything cause I don’t have a lot to write about.  Day to day we do small things that I could write about but it doesn’t seem very important at the time and so another day slips by.  I think I may try to enter a new blog about every 3 days unless something actually warrants it’s own entry.  With that said I will just ramble a little about what’s been going on at our winter home.

We went to church at the club house this morning as usual.  It was Jim Bierd’s day to preach.  He is one of our RV chapter members and always does a great job.  After church we went out to a local Mexican restaurant.  There were 22 of us with all but 2 people being from our own club.  The other 2 are from Oklahoma and are thinking of joining our group when we all return in the spring.  After eating, 12 of us drove over to Corpus Christi to the “Trade Center”.  The Trade Center is a giant flea market with a lot of junk and some good stuff.  We went over to check out a place that sell Tee Shirts.  They had a brand of shirts that I have bought in Colorado for over $20.  They were selling them for $5 each.  I think they are going out of business.  I got 7 of them and Twila got 4.  They are really good quality shirts.  I wouldn’t normally have gotten some of them but at that price couldn’t turn them down.  Tomorrow the woman are going to have a girls day out.  Of course that means the men will also go somewhere if only out to lunch.  It has been a little chilly down here again.  Last night it got down to 36F.  I looked on Weather Bug and saw it got down to 26 last night in Cushing, OK so I guess we aren’t doing too bad.  I haven’t done anything with my golf clubs that I bought from my friend Dale in Weatherford, TX on the way down here.  We just haven’t had enough pretty days in a row for me to contact the local “pro” and take a few lessons.  Maybe soon.

Back in Texas

We had a good time in Oklahoma but were ready to get back.  We stayed at Twila’s daughters house which is also my nephews house but you all know that story.  Twila’s family had their reunion on Saturday the 2nd and no one killed anyone so it was a good reunion.  We broke my mother out of the nursing home in Cushing, Oklahoma and brought her with us to Texas.  She can only stay a week without messing up the arrangements at the nursing home so she will have to be back by the 12th.  Mom is 93 and will be 94 February the 13th.  I wish we were having warmer weather for her but it is a lot warmer here than in Cushing.  Of course it doesn’t really matter since it is warm in the nursing home anyway so she wouldn’t notice the cold there.  We will have to make another round trip to Oklahoma to get her back by the 12th.

We are actually suppose to get down to 25F overnight and maybe as low as 22F tomorrow night and about 28F Saturday night before it starts to warm up again.  It is 42F at 6:50pm.  This is not what we came south for but since it is suppose to get down around 0F in Cushing I guess we don’t really have anything to complain about.  I filled the water tank in the Motor home and unhooked the water hose so I don’t expect any problems with the cold.  We have most everyone down here now from our RV Club except for Pete and Margie Kelly and they are suppose to be here any day now.
