The trip from Seward to Soldotna was about 93 miles. We were worried about getting a place to park at Fred Meyers in Soldotna since we are coming up on the 4th of July weekend so we left Seward about 8:30am and that included using the dump station and filling up with water. Soldotna is a real nice city of about 3900 people but of course during the summer there are at least twice that many people due to tourists. The Fred Meyers parking lot looks like a used RV store. Twila counted 17 on our side of the store alone and there are units on the other side as well. Fred Meyers even had an employee in the parking lot recording tag numbers and informing everyone that they were welcome to stay 3 nights but then they would have to be gone for 2 nights if they wanted to return. They made us feel welcome and even told us that they have water and a dump station available. Wal-Mart should take note.
After getting up so early we took a nap and then went to Mattie and Gary’s trailer to play cards.
