We went to Shadows on the Teche today. This is a home that was built around 1845 by a local sugar cane grower and it still had about 90% of the original furnishing including pictures. Then we went to New Iberia to the Tabasco Plant and took a tour of the plant. Gary even had some Tabasco ice cream. Later we went to a Rice Mill and wanted to take a tour but we missed the last one for the day. We did buy some brown rice with pecan flavor added. It was a good day. Gary and Mattie went to a local restaurant tonight but Twila and I weren’t really hungry since we had a big lunch at Chile’s. Mattie is checking out restaurants in the area for her bus tours.
